The main topic of this meeting, which will precede the Parliament Speaker’s collegium, will be solving the stalemate in the Parliament which has been caused by the decision of Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic to postpone the session scheduled for 23 March, the 15th agenda item of which should have been his dismissal.
Two days ago, Krivokapic announced that the date of the new Parliament session would be agreed by the representatives of political parties after the prime minister’s question time next week. He added that the session could be scheduled sooner if a political agreement was reached.
Before Krivokapic cancelled the Parliament session, at the collegiums DPS had suggested abolishing 14 agenda items which should be discussed by the Parliament at plenary session. After the session was cancelled, DPS, Positive Montenegro (PCG), Liberal Party (LP) and the Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI) have said that this political precedent made by the Speaker of the Parliament would not pass that easy. On the other hand, SDP argues that the session was cancelled because of the DPS’s parliamentary obstruction.
Had the session been held, only the issue of Krivokapic’s dismissal would have been on the agenda, as well as the item he had subsequently added to the agenda – draft decision on forming a board for monitoring and control of the Bar-Boljare highway construction project implementation.
