Montenegro is still facing cyber attacks against its IT systems. Chief Information Security Officer, Dusan Polovic, tells CdM that state bodies have to invest more in the systems of cyber security: security equipment, software tools as well as human resources.

“The state must find a way to recognize and motivate people in charge of cyber security and government’s infrastructure in terms of finances, and do more when it comes to their education.”

Mr Popovic is adamant – cyber experts are one of the best paid people in the world and we have to do everything in our power to stop a ‘brain drain’.

Cyber attacks we’re facing, he adds, indicate that the Montenegrin society lacks well-developed awareness on the risks and consequences they may trigger.
