Local elections have ended. Some voters are celebrating, some are being dissatisfied. Some are waving the tricolour. Some have liberated something again, while those declaring themselves Europeans were celebrating with the sound of the ‘Veseli se Srpski Rode’ song.
URA is not important for anyone anymore. The Europe Now Movement is now announcing the increase in salaries, and we just hope we won’t be obliged to pay for things in instalments. The DPS faced the defeat, they don’t hope for the coalition.
One of the moments which best reflects the elections, particularly the Podgorica ones, is the statement of the ‘Europe Now’ Movement candidate, Jakov Milatovic, who said they were going to “invite URA”, meaning on the forthcoming talks over the formation of the local government.
They’re going to call URA, but they can form power without it.
The election results have shown that the DPS both individually and along with its traditional partners, is the strongest party or bloc, but that’s all. It remains without a broader coalition capacity. Beside that, it records drop in all municipalities, while the results in Podgorica showed that – it will either have to make some fundamental changes in their politics or their rating is going to fall massively.
