Decision on the enrolment of students at the Berane Medical School should be made at the session of the University of Montenegro (UCG) management board is scheduled for 18 August.
Prime Minister Dusko Markovic accepted the proposal of the UCG’s student parliament to enrol students in Berane but to organise part of the lectures in Podgorica. Students met with Markovic to ensure that they will be financially supported by the government in a case they should attend classes in Podgorica.
On the other hand, some UCG representatives think this solution is only a trick. Chancellor Radmila Vojvodic claims that the license for the school in Berane is illegal.
UCG’s management board announced enrolment for UCG’s faculties but excluded the Berane Medical School from the process. The university was fined €500 and Vojvodic €50. However, since she still refused to comply with the government’s decision on keeping the School in Berane, the competent inspectorate initiated court proceedings.
