Decision on airports concession up to the new govt

It’s up to the new government to decide whether the concession process of the airports in Podgorica and Tivat will be continued, the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs confirmed for Dan daily.

They stated that the first phase of the procedure for granting concession has been over, that is, the pre-qualification process is completed, and the tender committee for the process of concession informed in mid-January the companies which met the prequalification criteria that they’ve been marked as ‘qualified bidders’.

In addition, the appeal procedure is finished as well. The next step would be the announcement of the tender, as the entire procedure was stopped in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The current government won’t continue with the procedure, as the project will be given to the new one. We believe that the procedure should continue without starting it all over again,” the Ministry of Transport said.

Prime Minister, Mr Duško Marković, and Transport Minister, Mr Osman Nurković, strongly advocated for the airports concession as they claimed the airports looked absolutely disgraceful.
