The Montenegrin diaspora is closely monitoring the events in the homeland and will do anything in their power to save Montenegro if necessary. No one should doubt it, a famous businessman, humanitarian and donator who has been living and working in New York for 30 years, Refik Radoncic, said in a statement for Dnevne Novine daily.
Commenting on the recent meeting attended by representatives of the Government of Montenegro, headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Dritan Abazovic, when the Leader of the Bosniak Alliance of Montenegro, Esad Rastoder, harshly criticized the guests for “betraying Montenegro” and “stirring up tensions in homes of every citizen”, he said: “Mr Rastoder is a brave man, who openly says what he thinks. I wish everyone would speak so openly. We, in the diaspora, have no problems with that and no matter who our interlocutor is, we always act with honest messages. What M. Rastoder was talking about is a fact and I have no doubt that the vast majority think alike.”
On the Democratic Front and their attacks on the diaspora in New York, Mr Radoncic noted: “Their reaction is not surprising, on the contrary – we all know about their ideology. And that’s the difference between us. I want an independent, European, civic Montenegro, and they want a theological country. These are two different concepts, and the DF criticizes us for that, that is, they believe that our support to such Montenegro is a support to the DPS. They identify us with that party. It’s wrong.”
