President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, announced plans to sue Vijesti daily for publishing misinformation about him. It has been noted that the President’s interview with tycoon Duško Knežević was published with the aim of spreading misinformation ahead of the protests.
“Groundless and unchecked allegations against President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, that were published in today’s newspaper ‘Vijesti’ describing his conversation with tycoon Duško Knežević, represent deliberate spreading of sensational misinformation, with the aim of instigating rioting,” the Cabinet of President Đukanović stated.
The Cabinet also said this tendentious interview, as well as other texts including false information and claims about President Đukanović, will be basis for Mr Đukanović to launch legal action against Vijesti daily.
