€33 million worth loan for hydro power plant “Perućica”

From the aspect of the implementation of development projects, we can say that an impressive year is behind us. A total of €12 million was invested in capital projects, said Ivan Mrvaljević, manager of the Directorate for Development and Engineering within the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG).

He reminded of the July, 2018, when the contract worth €10,3 million was signed with the JV Litostroj Power from Slovenia for the purposes of the reconstruction of hydro machine and electric equipment of the aggregate A1, A2 and A3, as well as of the plants of their own consumption. Also, the realization of the second phase of the reconstruction of Hydro power plant “Piva” started.

“The dynamic plan is being followed fully and all the projected activities on aggregate A2 will be completed in 2019. Works on aggregate A1 were planned for next year, whereas 2021 is reserved for aggregate A3. In the next three years, around €15 million will be invested in Hydro power plant “Piva”, inclusive of the capital overhaul of aggregates A2 and A3″, explained Mrvaljević.

Agreement with the Kwf Bank, for the purposes of the reconstruction of hydro power plant “Perućica”, will be signed in spring. This project is €33 million orth.

“Phase II of the reconstruction and modernization of hydro power plant “Perućica” entails reconstruction and modernization of hydro machine and electric equipment of aggregates A5, A6 and A7, as well as hydro mechanic equipment of gate valves, equipment for hydro-hydraulic measurements, installation of integral information system at the level of the plant, then, reconstruction and modernization of construction structures of the remedial system, reconstruction of the channel Moštanica and construction of measuring profile on the river Zeta”, says Mrvaljević.

He also spoke about the project of the construction of hydro power plant Komarnica. Currently, the process of choosing the optimal option and rendering the final decision about all the accompanying projects is on.

“The study on reasonability will define the total value of the investment and the cost efficiency of the construction of hydro power plant Komarnica. Study on the environmental impact risk assessment will take into consideration all the potential environmental impacts and provide measures for their reduction”, added Mrvaljević.

As far as the construction of solar power plant in Briska gora is concerned, phase I, of the installed power of 50 mega watts will be implemented in 18 months, whereas the phase II will be implemented in 36 months.
