The spokesperson of the European Commission (EC) Maja Kocijancic said that if Medojevic had any evidence of the EU lobbying, as he called it, he should submit them to the EU.
She said that the EU was taking no sides in internal Montenegrin issues, but emphasized the need for all political forces to engage in a constructive dialogue in order to overcome the current political situation.
“If Mr Medojevic has information about any illegal activities of ‘European lobbyists’, we are calling on him to submit it to the relevant EU authorities,” Kocijancic told Dnevne Novine daily.
MEP Jelko Kacin told the daily no one should be expected to respond to Nebojsa Medojevic’s statements.
“As you can see, such statements are sent exclusively to the Montenegrin public and therefore we should not expect anyone from the EU to respond to them. For such statements no arguments are required and it is something that Mr Medojevic showed long ago, so I do not see any need to further comment on anything,” said Kacin.
He believes that Medojevic has stated those things out of his own political needs.
Kacin said that it was necessary to continue political dialogue, but that Medojevic’s statements do not allow that.
“What happens now is not a political dialogue. This is only Mr Medojevic’s monologue and the same repertoire,” said Kacin.
Medojevic has recently said that “corrupt lobbyists in Brussels administration, working for the dirty and bloody money of Milo Djukanovic, lying about the situation in Montenegro”.
