A great fire broke out on the coast again. This time it occurred in the Donji Grbalj area. As the head of the Kotor Civil Protection and Rescue Service Maksim Mandic told CdM, firefighters from Tivat, Kotor and local volunteers managed to save homes and buildings from the fire.
“We were protecting the houses, and for now we have saved them. The fire has not been localised yet,” Mandic briefly said.
According to Skala Radio, the fire broke out at about 3am in the village of Vranovici in the Donji Grbalj area. Immediately after the fire alert was sent, 13 members of the Kotor Civil Protection and Rescue Service with five vehicles came to the spot. Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from reaching houses.
The wind which often changed direction made the operation more difficult.
The Interior Ministry’s three aircrafts helped in the fire extinguishing, as well as private-owned companies which put their lorries on disposal.
The Kotor fire protection service was assisted by private entrepreneurs with their trucks. A great help is from the air of the air unit of the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the MIA of Montenegro. Three planes helped Kotor firefighters put fire under control.
