The Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Administration carried out 62 controls on domestic poultry farms in 2017 and registered the presence of salmonella in one flock of laying hens. As the administration told Dnevne Novine, the whole flock was destroyed, ie euthanized in the prescribed manner.
“In the control of eggs, the presence of residues of unauthorized veterinary medicines has not been established,” the administration said, explaining that farm controls were carried out in accordance with official control plans, as well as monitoring programmes.
The Directorate points out that during the control “there were no large scale irregularities or irregularities for which prohibiting measures or restrictions on the placing on the market of eggs from our farms are prescribed”.
