The Government of Montenegro shows at every step that it is not up to the job entrusted to it, trying to hide its incompetence and limitations by improvisations.
It also sends such a picture of itself to Brussels, as evidenced by the way in which it forwarded to the European Commission (EC) the Program of Economic Reforms of Montenegro PER (2021-2023), which shows what kind of amateurs our foreign partners meet.
EC experts estimate that the central scenario envisages an overly optimistic economic recovery.This PER scenario predicts expectations that the economy will recover this year, aided by the improvement of the health situation in the second half of the year, and that in 2022 it will return to the period before the crisis.
The completion of the first highway section in 2021, along with the expected tourism recovery, would lead to a reduction in the current account deficit, making net exports a key driver of growth.
However, as elsewhere, EC experts say, the delay in the start of vaccination against Covid-19 could challenge this recovery scenario.
