Budget expenditures in the Q1 of this year amounted to €451.9m, which is 9.7% of the estimated GDP, according to data from the Ministry of Finance. Compared to the plan and the Q1 of last year, expenditures were lower by €77.5m and €700,000 respectively.
Budget revenues were €348.4m (7.5%) of the estimated GDP, which is €15.9m more than planned, primarily due to higher corporate income tax collection, while they were by €27m lower compared to the Q1 of last year.
This means that the budget deficit amounted to €103.5m (2.2%) of GDP, which is €93.4m less than planned.
