The second international conference ‘Green Days 2020 – Rethinking Development’, which was held through a series of two-day virtual talks, finished earlier today. It gathered over 400 participants from 20 countries worldwide. The organizers of the conference, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Government of Montenegro and the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, held it through the Zoom platform, and all those who were interested in it could follow Live broadcast on Facebook and YouTube.
On behalf of the organizers, the conference was opened by Deputy PM, Mr Milutin Simović, Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Ms Mirjana Špoljarić Egger, and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr Danilo Gvozdenović.
Mr Janez Potočnik, Co-chair of the UN International Expert Group on Resources and former European Commissioner for the Environment, delivered an introductory speech at the virtual conference.
“The conference tackled challenges and the need for the transition from linear to circular economy, the new strategy for human resources management, the development of new business models, innovation management, ambitious climate goals, the European Green Deal as a roadmap for making the EU’s economy sustainable, as well as the tourism amidst the coronavirus crisis,” the govt said in a statement.
“Green Days 2020 – Rethinking Development” were organized in partnership with the fifth Circular Change Conference and are part of the economic “Caravan on Circular Changes 2020”.
