Half a million euros to help traffic around Rožaje

Ministar Nurković

The Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Osman Nurković,  announced reconstruction of the Rožaje-Vuča regional road will begin in 2019. To make it happen, all documentation for this project worth EUR 500,000 will be finished this year.

The road is part of the Rožaje-Tutin-Novi Pazar regional road, passing through Bijela Crkva, Biševo and Vuča villages of Rožaje, where several thousand citizens live.

“The road will be six meters wide, which means two lanes, but the project also includes rehabilitation of all bridges and unfortunate “hotspots” on the road where a lot of lives have been lost”, said Minister Nurkovic.

He emphasized the entire area is extremely suitable for the development of agriculture, because it is a vast, open space.

“The traffic is of great significance for the population of this area; this road is a hub that will enable the locals to reach the city easier, but also, hopefully, help them decide to stay in their villages and start their own businesses”, Nurkovic added stressing the huge production potential of the area around Rozaje.

Rožaje-Vuča is an alternative route to the main road going through Dračenovac.
