The hearing in the High Court in Podgorica related to the attempted terrorist attack on election day has been postponed for 24 May.
Reading the indictment has been postponed because attorneys have not received evidence material, judge Dragoje Jovic said.
“The attorneys will be able to take the evidence over on Monday,” he added.
After the hearing is completed, if the court confirms the indictment, it shall schedule a trial within 15 days after the decision is made.
The indictment against the defendants has been written in 129 pages. The Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) proposed hearing of eleven witnesses. The document also includes nine final verdicts.
If the indictment is confirmed, SDT announced presenting as many as 118 pieces of material evidence at the hearing, as well as listening to 33 telephone conversations recorded within secret surveillance measures.
According to the indictment, the criminal organisation that was supposed to destabilise Montenegro and forcibly seize power, was lead by two Russian intelligence officers Eduard Shishmakov (Shirokov) and Vladimir Popov. In addition to them, the accused include Democratic Front (DF) officials Milan Knezevic and Andrija Mandic, Mandic’s driver Mihailo Cadjenovic, as well as Bratislav Dikic, Predrag Bogicevic, Nemanja Ristic, Milos Jovanovic, Srboljub Djordjevic, Kristina Hristic, Branko Milic, Milan Dusic and Dragan Maksic, who are suspected of aiding them and creating a criminal organisation.
Ananije Nino Nikic (DF’s translator/interpreter) is accused in a separated case.
