The sentence was then brought by judge of the Basic Court, Larisa Mijušković-Stamatović.
In her explanation of the verdict, Judge then said that the presented evidence and footage from the airport determined beyond doubt that Pejovic committed the crimes for which he is being charged.
Pejovic is charged with the criminal offense of endangering safety.
The incident took place on February 21st last year at the Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla, and Pejovic was arrested on February 23rd. He spent 48 hours in custody, after which he was released to defend himself as a free man.
Pejovic explained his behaviour as “reaction to Medojevic’s lies and slander against my family and myself”, adding that DF deputy publicly called him “representative of drug cartels” on several occasions. When he saw him at the airport last year, Pejovic approached Medojevic to ask him whether he truly stands by what he said against his family and himself. Medojevic said he does not know or recognize who he is.
Pejovic then snapped, saying “Then how did you know who I was, when you lied about my family and me?”, and slapped Medojevic. He explains he did it because Medojevic is protected by immunity as MP against all lawsuits, and that this was the only way to “protect the integrity of my family”.
