Podgorica-based High State Prosecutor’s Office asked the Misdemeanor Court to initiate proceedings against the professor of the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Culture Boban Batricevic, PhD, because of his column posted in August on the Antena M portal.
Senior State Prosecutor Snezana Sisevic believes that Batricevic violated the law because of the column published on 11 August 2023.
The prosecutor proposes that the Misdemeanor Court in Podgorica schedule and hold the main hearing, and invite the Senior State Prosecutor and the defendant – Boban Batricevic, to the hearing.
In that column, Batricevic analyzed and expressed value judgments about the behavior of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro and its local bishops.
Prosecutor Sisevic believes that Batricevic should therefore plead guilty and be sentenced.
