Hotels in Montenegro among the top 10 in Europe

 

Hotel accommodation in Montenegro was rated with a score of 82.78, leaving behind well known European tourist destinations such as Greece (17th place, score of 81.96), the Czech Republic (ranked 18th, score of 81.94) or even Cyprus (25th, with a score of 81.39).

Of regional countries, best ranked is Bosnia and Herzegovina, which in the opinion of Trivago has the best hotels in Europe. Serbia follows with a grade of 83.6, occupying fourth place. Albania is also in front of Montenegro, ranked sixth. Hungary is ranked after Montenegro, in seventh place, with a score of 82.67. Slovenia follows with 82.6 points at the eight place. The list of regional countries is closed with Croatia on the 12th place, with a score of 82.57 points.

 

 

The list ranking global destinations cites Turks and Caicos island in the Caribbean, the Cayman Islands, Lesser Antilles, Maldives and Saint Lucia. BiH is also high-ranking in this category, occupying the ninth place. Of European countries, top 15 best in the world ranked only Liechtenstein.

Trivago ranks countries on the basis of ratings of tourists who visited hotels in these countries and partly, by assessment of experts in the field of tourism.

Come 2020., 13 percent of all hotels in Montenegro should have five stars, and 38 percent should be four-star hotels, as envisaged by the Strategy for Sustainable Tourism Development.

At this moment, Montenegro has 386 hospitality facilities with a capacity of 39.820 beds.

“Of this number, seven are five-star hotels (1.81 per cent): hotel ‘Splendid’ in Becici, Hotel ‘Aman Sveti Stefan’ in Sveti Stefan, a small hotel ‘Vila Milocer’ in Milocer, a small hotel ‘Villa Montenegro’ in Sveti Stefan, hotel ‘Regent Porto Montenegro’ in Tivat, boutique hotel ‘Ziya’ in Podgorica and a small hotel ‘Forza Mare’ in Kotor, which have a total of 977 beds”, said earlier Director General of the Directorate for Tourism development and standard, Olivera Brajovic.

The total of 117 four-star hotels in Montenegro count 13.894 beds (30.31 percent), of which most are located in Budva (34), followed by Podgorica with 19 hotels, 14 hotels in Kotor, Herceg Novi with 10 hotels, bar and Ulcinj with seven hotels each, Tivat with six hotels, Zabljak and Niksic with four hotels each, and others.
