Indictment for Medin’s murder returned for revision

The indictment for the murder of Petrovac resident Nemanja Medina has been returned to the High State Prosecutor’s Office to complement the investigation, the High Court in Podgorica stated on Wednesday, Dnevne Novine newspaper writes.

The indictment, which the court did not accept, includes Vladimir Ulama and the Darko Mijovic, who have been charged with kidnapping and aggravated murder, whereas Bogdan Milic has been suspected helping them in hiding after committing a criminal offense.

At the confirmation hearing, the defendants’ attorneys argued that it was the precedent to charge someone with such a serious crime although there is no evidence of the victim’s death. Such an indictment, as they put it, cannot be even returned for revision, let alone being confirmed.

On the other hand, high state prosecutor Zeljko Tomkovic has fully confirmed the indictment and the evidence presented.

The prosecutor’s office suspects that the Ulama and Mijovic had several phone contacts with Medin on the day when he disappeared and inviting him to come to Virpazar to trade some weapons. After that, according to the indictment, they required him to do something which he refused. After that they allegedly killed Medin and hid the body at an unknown place.
