Ivanovic: Govt’s position on agreement alignment confirmed by the EC

Filip Ivanović

The Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism and Real Estate Development between Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in its form and substance, does not contain provisions that would be in defiance of the EU acquis, Deputy Prime Minister, Filip Ivanovic, said earlier today, noting that this was confirmed in a letter from the EC Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos.

“The letter from the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Ms Marta Kos, explicitly confirming that the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism and Real Estate Development between Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates, in its form and substance, does not contain provisions that would be in defiance of the EU acquis, serves as confirmation of what I clearly said during the session of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) of the European Parliament,” DPM Ivanovic said in a statement.

As he reminded, the agreements are not, in their content, in contradiction with the EU acquis, nor with the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA).

Mr Ivanovic also added that the recommendations from the EC were received with full attention and respect.
