Member of the State Audit Institution (DRI) Senate, Zoran Jelic, stated that the State Audit Institution (DRI) is to conduct a research on whether the Regional Waterworks Montenegrin Coast has implemented their recommendations (36 of them in total), provided as a result of given negative opinion on their 2016 work report.
The interrogation of the Regional Waterworks management was conducted at the premises of the parliament’s Committee on Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Spatial Planning and representatives of DRI attended it. The management of Regional Waterworks stated they have managed to implement 30 recommendations but 3 of them were impossible to enforce as they were inconsistent with the international accounting standards.
According to Jelic, after DRI examines whether the Regional Waterworks has implemented their recommendations, the report will be submitted to the parliament, government, the ministries of finance and tourism.
He said that the DRI hasn’t registered any abuse of position, but rather a great number of irregularities in their work.
The parliament’s committee chair, Petar Ivanovic, stated it is desirable to organize a meeting at the premises of Montenegrin ministry of finance.
“As this is about specific matter, the international loans and accounting, I believe we should put everything in its place”, Ivanovic concluded.
