Kordic: DF’s candidate will be Mandic if DPS’s is Djukanovic

Simonida Kordić

DF MP Simonida Kordic has told TVCG that the leader of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) Andrija Mandic will be DF’s candidate for the presidential elections, if the candidate of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) is Milo Djukanovic.

He emphasizes that it is certain that these presidential elections will have the backbone of three candidates.

“One will certainly be a candidate of the previous regime, most likely Mr. Djukanovic. The second will be a candidate who will probably have the support of centers of political power outside of Montenegro. And the third candidate of DF, who will be the people’s candidate, as the original presidential candidate of the citizens of Montenegro”, says Kordic.

The leader of the Socialist People’s Party (SNP), Vladimir Jokovic, has called on the current majority parties to agree on a common presidential candidate.

The deadline for submitting a candidacy for the President of Montenegro is 26 February.

The presidential elections, the fourth since the restoration of independence and the seventh since the introduction of the multiparty system, are scheduled for 19 March.
