Lenac’s killers wanted: Red notice against Nikola Mrsic

An international arrest warrant has been issued against Nikola Mrsic (38) from Kotor. He has been suspected of killing Kotor resident Goran Lenac and attempting to murder Milan Jovicevic, sources close to investigation told Pobjeda.

According to the sources, the warrant was issued after the authorities had established that he had been out of Montenegro.

Mrkic was questioned in the Kotor police station immediately after the murder a month ago. However, he was released after he gave a statement because there was no basis for remanding him in custody.

Investigators’ suspicions that Mrkic had killed Lenac were confirmed by the findings from the Forensic Centre. The evidence found at the crime scene match Mrsic’s DNK profile.

In addition to this crime, the police are investigating whether Mrsic, who is said to be a member of the Skaljari clan, was involved in another murder that occurred in Kotor.

A source close to the investigation said that Mrsic had already been detained after the murder of Srdjan Vlahovic in Kotor, but there had been no evidence against him.

Well-informed sources also say that Mrsic was a close friend of Goran Biskupovic, who was killed on 5 September 2016 in the Muo neighbourhood in Kotor. An unknown person killed Biskupovic, also a member of the Skaljari clan, and his friend Milos Bosnjak, by activating an explosive device in a place they were passing by.

Mrsic was a manager at the Moka café in the Kotor Old Town. Brothers Igor and Jovic Vukotic, who are said to be leaders of the Skaljari criminal group, leased the café.

Lenac was said to be close to the Kavac clan, a rival criminal gang. He was a manager of two pizzerias owned by the group. There are no indications that Lenac was involved in the clan’s criminal activities.

Goran Lenac

Lenac was killed at the Bokelj football club’s stadium, on 16 September at about 5.25pm.

The perpetrator was not masked and watched Lenac from the spectator stands. Lenac was working out with Milan Jovicevic, his friend.

As Dnevne Novine earlier reported, there were several more people on the pitch. The executor was patiently waiting for other people to go away. Then he came down from the stands and started running, as if he was working out as well. Therefore, Lenac could notice no indications of an immediate danger. The perpetrator approached Lenac while he was doing push-ups and fired two shots into his head.

Then he escaped through the stadium exit. After that he fired several more shots in the air, possibly intending to scare the possible eyewitnesses.
