Nebojsa Vujkovic (37) from Podgorica was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of raping his former common-law wife, a Serbian citizen residing in Podgorica I.S. (37).
Vujkovic’s friends Srdjan Vukcevic (43) and Vesko Baosic (39) were arrested along with Vujkovic. They are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of coercion, Dnevne Novine newspaper learns.
According to unofficial information, on 23 March, I.S. reported to the police that the day before Vujkovic had allegedly raped her. She described the assault in details, although she did not know who the two men who helped him were.
I.S. stated that she was walking down the Blazena Ozana street on 22 March when her former common-law husband intercepted her by car. He was with his two friends and required her to get into the car. She refused.
According to her, the two men then got out of the car, approached and overpowered her, and one of them put his hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming for help, DN’s source said.
During the criminal investigation, a few days later it turned out that the two suspects of coercion were Vukcevic and Baosic.
The two of them pulled her into the car and Vujkovic immediately locked all the doors on the vehicle. He drove towards Dajbabe and then asked her to have sex, I.S. told police and prosecutors. She refused and tried to open the door, breaking the plastic handle on the inside of the door. He allegedly began to beat her with his fists, undressed her by force and raped.
Vujkovic and his companions were arrested on Tuesday night and questioned in the High State Prosecutor’s Office. Vujkovic has been remanded in prosecutorial custody, whereas Vukcevic and Baosic have been released pending trial.
