As long as citizens and professionals aren’t provided with full information about the hedging carried out by the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare, the public will not know whether and how much real savings there are in this business of the Government of Montenegro, which was another in a series of secret and organized deals of the executive branch that is kept silent about.
However, this will not happen for at least two years, which is a period during which the Ministry’s “internal” label on five pieces of information is valid – contracts with banks involved in a hedging arrangement for a loan to build the Smokovac-Matesevo highway section.
The line Ministry has refused to provide information related to the hedging arrangement to the NGO Action for Social Justice, informing it that the information was classified, even though it was the money of Montenegrin citizens. In the answers to the CdM’s question about the amount of the commission of the banks that are included in the arrangement, the Ministry did not answer, but stated that “those who had the most favorable conditions for the state” were selected.
