Daily newspaper Pobjeda today reports that Markovic presented to the prosecutor a number of facts about Shukovic’s motives to publicly communicate allegations that he, deputy prime minister Markovic, and advisor to the president, Mr. Veselin Veljovic, are at the forefront of the so-called “Mojkovac clan”.
Explaining Sukovic’s outbursts in the media, Markovic said Mr. Sukovic had “both personal and other motives and interests” to publicly slander state officials, noting that there are facts indicating the existence of criminal liability of Predrag Sukovic.
We recall that Sukovic claimed the investigation against him is in fact retaliation of Dusko Markovic and Veselin Veljovic, because he (Sukovic) in 2012. led an investigation into the operations of the factory “Montenegro Tobacco Company” in Podgorica settlement Donja Gorica, and also towns of Mojkovac and Kolasin.
Pressed by massive evidence, but also the necessity to prove his own claims, Predrag Šuković tried to internationalize his case.
Thus, on August 11th, at his own request, he visited the US Embassy in Podgorica to talk to representatives of the US administration in Montenegro.
The US Embassy did not report on what was discussed at the meeting, nor did Sukovic want to speak about it to any of the media outlets in Montenegro.
After Deputy Prime Minister Dushko Markovic made specific accusations for criminal responsibility, Shukovic could soon appear before the Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica.
