On the occasion of the earthquake that hit today’s northeastern part of Montenegro, Prime Minister Dusko Markovic called on local and state services, and all other institutions, to step up their activities and help citizens threatened by today’s earthquake.
“The government will be with the citizens of Plav, Gusinje, Andrijevica and Berane, and help to repair the consequences of an earthquake that has hit the municipalities, Markovic said.
A fairly strong earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 hit Montenegro today. No citizens were injured or endangered. The earthquake caused certain material damage, so some families had to leave their homes.
The earthquake struck 7km from Plav. The depth of the earthquake, which struck at 11.46am, was measured at 14km.
