After the Congress of the DPS adopted the party’s program which, among other things, says that the ruling party will insist on reconciliation among the Orthodox believers and create a unified Orthodox Church, Marovic said he would like the church to bring people closer, and not drive them apart.
“We do not wish to organize, nor regulate any religious community in the country”, said Marovic for Dnevne Novine daily.
HE added the DPS has no intention to use party programs to create or organize any religion in Montenegro.
“However, we wanted our program to emphasize that we are very concerned that people are united in all matters, including religious ones, and especially those people who feel Orthodox, to try to understand each other, to become closer and join in stability, democratic prosperity and progress of Montenegro”, Marovic said.
