Milic’s last attempt to remain SNP leader

After postponing the session of the SNP Executive Committee, at which the resignation of the party leader Srdjan Milic was supposed to be confirmed, party members, dissatisfied with this decision, said that this act violated the statute of the party. They blame committee members close to Milic for that, Dnevne Novine newspaper writes.

Former MP and the committee member Danka Markovic said that the party’s statute was violated because the session was postponed by Branko Ivanovic as the eldest committee member.

“Milic has given a written resignation, which was to be confirmed at the committee session. Then we supposed to appoint the eldest committee member, ie Branko Ivanovic, to lead the party until the party congress.  However, Ivanovic postponed the session before he was appointed, thus breaking Article 62 of the Statute,” she told DN.

She added that such a decision was the last Milic’s attempt to stay the party leader.

“Milic agrees because his and others wish to destroy SNP,” Markovic said. She added that the session was postponed because there was not majority in the committee needed for Milic’s remaining the party leader.

Another DN’s source from the party argues that former MP Snezana Jonica is to be blamed. The source said this was an attempt of people close to Milic to keep their influence in the party, adding that the Statute was violated.

The source also said that Jonica was trying to take a revenge against SNP members who required Milic’s resignation and that she wanted the party to split again.
