Justice Minister Andrej Milovic has called on Prime Minister Milojko Spajic to propose his dismissal to the Parliament of Montenegro.
“Since I took up the post of minister, I suffered and continue to suffer calculated media and political attacks. This and such an agenda of spreading falsehoods and the already tested method of slandering people, alleged criminalization and discrediting, was created and imported to eventually bring down the Minister of Justice as one of the most responsible entities for obtaining IBAR and unblocking Chapter 23. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I was not spared from any of the people from PES, to which I belonged”, said Milovic at an extraordinary press conference.
Last week, the Government decided that instead of Minister of Justice Andrej Milovic, Deputy Prime Minister Momo Koprivica would be a representative in the Parliament when the IBAR laws were discussed on behalf of the law’s proponents. At that time, the Government announced that Milovic had disobeyed the instruction that stipulated that amendments to the IBAR laws could not be accepted without the Government’s consent. After this decision, Milovic said that as the relevant minister, he did not receive a specific instruction from the Government that amendments that correct a technical error in the text of the law should not be accepted.
“Prime Minister, Mr. Spajic, I want to help you and invite you to stop the political agony. Have the guts and as soon as possible submit a proposal to the Parliament to dismiss me from the position of Minister of Justice, who devotedly worked to obtain IBAR, unblock Chapter 23, and often defended you when others did not want to and did not dare”, Milovic said, among other things.
Milovic stresses he will formalize his initiative and send it to Spajic in writing as soon as possible.
