The Ministry of Health has engaged a philologist, Ms Marija Miličković, to carry out an internal audit, the CdM portal has learned.
This move is in defiance of the Law on Internal Control and Management in public sector, as the internal audit can be done only by an internal auditor recruited in that institution.
Still, it’s unknown whether the story of the alleged auditor, Ms Slavica Drašković, who had obtained a certificate from the NGO Internal Auditors Institute, is repeating.
However, the CdM portal asked the Ministry of Health, run by Ms Jelena Borovinić Bojović, to reveal the names of auditors they engaged, as well as the amount of money the ministry is going to pay for audit services, but received no answer to date.
CdM urges the ministry to show the contracts concluded with auditors. In addition, all inspection bodies and prosecution should investigate whether there were breaches of the Public Procurement Law concerning Article 27 paragraph 3, having in mind that the Ministry of Health is dividing the same case into several smaller ones in order to avoid the application of the law.
The portal has already addressed the Ministry of Health, requiring the information about four auditors – their biography and how much they’re going to be paid for their services.
