Some Montenegrin educational programs, such as courses for waiters and cooks, account for about 60% of practical lessons at the employer in the total amount of practical trainings. The Ministry of Education plans to introduce entrepreneurial clubs in high schools, it was said at the two-day regional conference on vocational education which started in Budva.
The Ministry of Education of Montenegro organised the event in cooperation with the European Commission and the European Training Foundation (ETF).
The conference opened many topics, especially discussing the importance of vocational education and developing skills in Montenegro, the countries of the region and beyond.
Minister Damir Sehovic said that additional efforts should be invested in recognising the most attractive professions and competencies and producing professionals who will be absorbed by the market.
Sehovic particularly emphasised that in educational and study programmes, Montenegro prescribes a mandatory fund of teaching hours that must be carried out in a real working environment, which, according to the assessment, is a huge step forward in the participation of employers in education.
