Ministry of Science provides grants for innovative projects

Prime Minister, Mr Duško Marković, and Minister of Science, Ms Sanja Damjanović, granted funds in the amount of €3,5 million for PhD scholarships, innovative projects, two new centers of excellence and strategic partnerships in the implementation of pre-acceleration program of innovative startups. They also handed annual awards to the most successful scientists and innovators.

Ms Damjanović pointed out that the previous three years had been very challenging due to numerous activities that had been undertaken as well as the breakthrough in strengthening innovation eco-system of Montenegro.

“We know that our country has exceptional people. Therefore, Ministry is guided by an ambitious vision in order to achieve more in the domain of science and innovation”, said Ms Damjanović.

She expressed her gratitude to everybody who had offered their partnership and accepted invitation for cooperation.

Ms Damjanović handed grants for innovative projects, centers of excellence and strategic partnerships. She also handed awards to the most successful scientists and innovators.

Dr Marko Simeunović delivered an address on the behalf of grant winners. He stressed that Montenegro had excellent researchers and innovators and enormous potential that should be focused on patents and commercialization of potential solutions.

Dr Simeunović called on all scientific and innovative institutions in Montenegro to cooperate, with the aim of forming research and innovative synergy.
