In the forthcoming period, we will focus on meeting the obligations defined by the final criteria for Chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Changes, in order to achieve faster progress and its [Chapter] closure, said Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism, Mr Ratko Mitrović.

Minister Mitrović discussed Chapter 27, open issues, the ways of their solution and EU’s assistance with EU Ambassador to Montenegro, Ms Oana-Cristina Popa, during their meeting.

“The Minister presented the plan for visiting all the areas struggling with ecological problems that prevent people from their normal way of life,” the Ministry stated.

Ms Popa, on the other hand, has underlined that environmental protection is one of the key points on the EU Agenda for next year. She especially pointed out the priorities of the Green Agenda that reflect in waste management, renewable energy and decarbonisation.
