Monograph titled ‘Diaspora of Montenegro’ presented today

The monograph titled ‘Diaspora of Montenegro’ has been promoted today at the National Library Radosav Ljumović in the capital, Podgorica.

Head of the Department for Diaspora, Predrag Mitrović, assessed that the Monograph was one of the most significant projects of his department over the past period, adding that it was co-published with Dnevne Novine, a daily.

“We felt that there was an objective need to consolidate current knowledge and present the main migratory flows of the population from the Montenegrin territory, but also to emphasize all those members of the Diaspora who incorporated themselves into the state and national being of Montenegro,” Mr Mitrovic said.

After more than two decades, he emphasized, there is a publication that allows us to get to know our diaspora all over the world much better.

“We believe that this Monograph opens some new horizons in terms of understanding the complex structure, as is the case with the Diaspora of Montenegro.”

He expressed gratitude to the co-authors of the publication – Marjan Mašo Miljić, Sait Šabotić, Ivan Jovović, Marko Špadier, Milan Vukčević, Elvira Bekteša and Antonela Arhin Krstović -a professor at the University of Toronto, as well as to the editor, Ivan Jovovic.
