According to the preliminary data of the Monstat statistics agency, the real growth rate of the Montenegrin economy in the past year was 4.4%.

“Bearing in mind the previously published data that the real GDP growth rate in the first quarter of last year was 3.2%, in the second 5.1%, in the third 4.7% and in the fourth 4%, it turns out that real GDP growth rate was 4.4% last year,” Monstat director Gordana Radojevic said at today’s press conference.

She said GDP in the fourth quarter amounted to €1.08bn.

“In absolute terms, there was more than €65m of generated added value compared to the same quarter of 2016,” Radojevic said.

According to her, positive trends in GDP in the fourth quarter of last year were the result of increased production in a large number of economic activities, as well as significantly increased investment spending.
