Montenegrin hotels welcomed over million guests in 2018

There were 1,076,848 tourists who stayed in hotels, tourist camps and boardings across Montenegro last year, of whom 959,121 were foreigners, according to the preliminary data of the Statistical Office of Montenegro, MONSTAT, reports Dnevne Novine daily.

This is by 12.7% higher compared to 2017, while the number of international overnights for the same period is by 8.2% higher. Namely, there were 4,208,955 overnight stays in total, of which 3,763,857 were made by foreign visitors.

MONSTAT preliminary figures also show that 809,575, that is, 84.41% of foreign arrivals were from the European countries, while 149,546 of them were from the other continents. Of the total number, Serbs made up most foreign overnight visitors – 120,060 tourists or 12.52%, followed by the tourists from Russia -79,153, France – 61,212 and Germany – 57,723 of them visited Montenegro last year.

As for the region, apart from Serbia, Albania holds the second place with 38,281 of its nationals visiting MNE, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina -35,101, Croatia – 24,816, Kosovo – 21,311, Slovenia – 15,887 and Macedonia – 10,345.
