In the first nine months of this year, 371 IVF treatments were carried out at the expense of the Montenegrin Health Insurance Fund, which cost almost 700,000 euro, writes Dnevne Novine daily.

The greatest number of IVF processes was done in the Cetinje General Hospital (117 IVF processes costing €255,625.23), while the least in ‘Codra’ hospital – only 15 (the Fund paid €25.261,87 for them), while a total of 239 IVF treatments costing €417,799.93 were performed in three private health care institutions outside the network.

According to Mr Amer Ramusović, a spokesperson of the Health Insurance Fund, this institution had to pay nearly €700,000 for a total of 371 IVF treatments, which is by €117,000 more compared to the same period last year.

Following the public call for providing services to health care institutions outside the network, Mr Ramusović added, the Fund concluded contracts for providing IVF treatments in three private health care institutions: Podgorica-based private hospital ‘Life’, ‘Arsmedica’ and Budva-based private hospital ‘Humana Reprodukcija’.
