Foreign minister Srdjan Darmanovic will present former US Vice President Joseph Biden, senator John McCain and congressman May Turner with an award for contributing to the promotion of Montenegrin interests, the strengthening of interstate relations, and the international reputation and position of Montenegro.
“Namely, the support of the aforementioned US officials to Montenegro during the entire process of Euro-Atlantic integration, and especially in the final phase of NATO accession, as one of our most significant foreign policy priorities, was of particular importance. Therefore, the visit of minister Darmanovic will be an opportunity to show sincere gratitude for the traditionally strong and sustained US support to Montenegro in the past period,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
According to the ministry, during his visit to Washington, Darmanovic will have a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of the US administration and the “think tank” community.
Darmanovic will stay in the United States from 19 to 23 March.
