According to preliminary data of the Central Bank of Montenegro, CBM, the total inflow of foreign direct investments in 11 months of last year amounted to €591.2 million, while at the same time €180.1 million poured out of the country.
In November 2020, the net inflow of foreign direct investment, i.e. the difference between their inflow and outflow amounted to €411.1 million, which is by 49.5% higher compared to the same period in 2019.
“The total inflow of foreign direct investment fell by 17.1% compared with the comparable period, as a result of decline in equity investment,” the CBM Bulletin suggests.
As for residents’ investments abroad, €24.6 million poured out of the country, while non-residents withdrew €155.5 million invested in Montenegro.
The inflow of foreign direct investment in the form of equity investment amounted to €205.9 million, accounting for 34.8% of the total. Of that, €96.7 million was invested in real estate, and €109.2 million in companies and banks.
