Minister of Energy and Mining Sasa Mujovic agreed with the Montenegro’s power supplier, EPCG, that there would be no increase in electricity prices, based on the request of CEDIS, the ministry announced.
“By hiring Mujovic, EPCG will provide a discount for all consumers in order to neutralize the impact of the increase in the amount of bills for end consumers, based on the request of CEDIS. The discount for all categories of regular payers has been agreed with EPCG representatives, at the suggestion of Minister Mujovic, and will be valid until 31 March 2024, when it will continue for all consumers up to the 500-kw category, which includes the majority of consumers in Montenegro, said the Ministry.
In this way, as it added, Mijovic canceled the increase in bills to consumers based on the regulatory allowed income of CEDIS (5.63%), which was approved by the Energy Regulatory Agency.
Citizens will not be affected by that increase now, thanks to the engagement of Minister Mujovic, which was taken into account by EPCG, the announcement stated.
