At today’s cabinet meeting, Brskovo Mine was discussed again. Minister of Energy and Mining Sasa Mujovic said that the decision was made to give the concessionaire another 60 days to eliminate all irregularities, and he emphasized that he still believed that the best option was to terminate the contract with the concessionaire Tara Resources.

He stressed that it was a controversial contract.

“The company violated the concession contract and we have the right to start the termination procedure,” Mijovic pointed out, among other things.

“I had a meeting with the ministers of energy of Serbia and the Serb Republic and we started the Bilecko Lake story. The Serb Republic has certain demands from us. They claim that the operation of HPP Piva endangers part of their territory and they believe that they have the right to start an arbitration against Montenegro. Regarding Bilecko lake, there are two studies. (…) International arbitration is expensive and time-consuming, so it is best to form a joint group of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro and determine a compromise measure for both parties”, said Mujovic.

According to him, the concession payments to Niksic for the subjugated territory will start being made again.
