The conditions have been met and we are terminating the contract for the premises of the Brskovo Mine. There will be no mines in Mojkovac, Minister of Energy and Mining Sasa Mujovic has announced after today’s cabinet meeting.

“A violation of the contract by the concessionaire was detected. We informed it and gave it a deadline to correct the observed deficiencies and informed it about the consequences. We have not received a response from Tara Resources, so the conditions have been met for us to unilaterally terminate the contract and initiate the collection of the bank guarantee. In this way, we put an end to the process that has been going on since 2010 and end the agony of the people of Mojkovac. As the government, we showed a responsible attitude, raised the expectations as well as the health of our citizens to a pedestal, and provided the company with fair conditions to dispel our doubts”, said Mujovic.

According to him, investments and investors are welcome in Montenegro, but only for those who respect the laws of this country.

He believes that this is a process in which the profession won, and that the current government has shown that it respects the position of the profession.

Mujovic has added that in the case of the Steelworks, they had two iterations of calls for investors.

He has emphasized that the task and goal of the Government is to solve the problem of the Steelworks in the best way.
