New bridge over Morača to be completed before deadline

Construction works on the new bridge over Morača river on the route of the Southwest bypass that connects Petrovac and Cetinje main road are underway and go according to plan. Despite many challenges due to the coronavirus epidemic, i.e. difficulties in the procurement of the equipment and necessary material, decreased number of workers in the construction site (as they have to practice physical distance), works will be completed within the deadline, at the latest – by April 2021, the Capital City announced.

Having in mind that Bemax company, alongside Crnagoraput AD, is a contractor and that is finishes majority of projects before the set deadline, the same is expected to happen with the new bridge over Morača river.

They reminded that a contract was signed with the consortium “Crnagoraput AD – Bemax Ltd.” for the preparation of the main project and the construction of a bridge according to a “turnkey” system (the second section of the Southwest bypass). The value of the contract is 5,798.320 euro.

Construction of the Southwest bypass began in August 2018. It represents the road of the primary route network, which forms the connection between the main road Podgorica-Cetinje and Podgorica-Petrovac.

“In this way, Podgorica will build a part of the transport ring around the city, as after the construction of the bypass, the city will be significantly relieved of transit traffic.”
