Niksic: €10.6 million revenues for six months

At a session of the Assembly of Niksic, the majority of councillors, consisting of representatives of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), agreed that the financial situation has not been at the desired level yet.

Apart from the former representative of the Positive Montenegro, currently an independent councillor, Jovo Radulovic, opposition councillors did not attend the session at which 15 agenda items were adopted, the news agency Mina-business reported.

Secretary of the Municipal Secretariat of Finance, Development and Entrepreneurship, Djoko Krivokapic, said that in the period from January to June, the municipality administration made about 10.6 million in revenues, or 46.9% of the plan.

“Budget of the Municipality of Niksic has been well planned, well implemented and by the end of the year we will make a rebalance, solely from technical reasons, because implementation of all obligations towards commercial banks was not planned at the beginning of the year,” Mr Krivokapic said.

He explained that on the basis of previous decisions of the Assembly, they managed to take out 5.5 million loan from the NLB bank and thus fully refinanced all liabilities towards domestic commercial banks.

Mr Krivokapic also said that the agreement with the State on rescheduling of 17.7 million tax liabilities that the local self-government took over and on that basis began to pay it off regularly from June 1st.

“Currently, the Municipality of Niksic has not paid only the tax for the September salaries of its employees. Every salary and tax is paid on time. And it is an indicator of how much has been done to settle financial situation of the Municipality of Niksic, which has not been at the desired level yet, but in the coming period, particularly during the preparation of the budget for the coming year, it would be further lead to a real and desired state,” Mr Krivokapic said.

Speaking on achieved revenues, Mr Krivokapic said that out of the planned 7.7 million 3.38 million was collected by June, or about 50%.

The Assembly also adopted the draft decision on the transfer of funds aimed to implementing the programme to reduce the number of employees through consensual termination of engagement with severance pay, which is one of the measures to stabilise the financial situation of the Municipality.

The Municipality planned to provide 400,000 for paying off the redundant labour force. So far, 105 employees in the administration of the local self-government and public enterprises and institutions have applied for this programme.
