“We bought four ‘Capri’ ice creams and all four of their sticks said we get new ice-creams, free of charge. Frankly, we rejoiced, and went to the store where we bought them, hoping to get another four. However, workers looked at us like we were crazy and told us that we cannot get new ice creams free of charge”, a man told Dnevne Novine about the uncomfortable situation.
He justifiably asks, why ice creams whose sticks point out awards are even on sale in Montenegro, when our citizens cannot get them.
On the other hand, the company Ledo, owner of Frikom ice-creams, believes they are not misleading consumers, because the prize game “Frikom celebrates, you win” is officially valid only for the Serbian market.
“Ledo doo Podgorica since 2008 has not organized any prize games in Montenegro. For the game to be valid in Montenegro, the local representative company registered in Montenegro must submit such request to the Ministry of Finance (Directorate of games of chance) and published its rules in the media. It is quite clear where the confusion comes from, but we can not influence watching of foreign TV channels where the prize game was advertised, as only valid for the territory of the Republic of Serbia”, the company said for Dnevne Novine.
They explained that the awards for this year’s prize game in Serbia are only commodity vouchers, and that there are no other awards available.
“Prize game is called “Frikom celebrates, you win” with the motto of the campaign titled “440 rewards for 40 years of celebration”, dedicated to the 40th birthday of the company. Of course we do not believe we are deceiving consumers in Montenegro, because the prize game was in no way communicated in Montenegro. As for tourists, especially those from Serbia, they are very familiar with the rules of the game which haven’t changed from 2007 to 2014″, the company concluded.
