One in three Montenegrins is shopping on internet

PR of Postal service Vesna Goljevic-Novovic said that packages from e-trade mostly come from China, Great Britain, Hong Kong and Singapore.

„Number of packages in e-trade is growing. Postal service of Montenegro delivered around 91.000 packages from e-trade in 2013. Last year 238.000 packages of this type were delivered. It is definite that at the end of this year we will have the biggest number so far, especially since the last two months of the year are the most popular for internet shopping”, she emphasized.

It is interesting that there are very few complaints on e-trade in recent times. From one delivery service that didn’t want its name to be mentioned and that is intensively engaged in internet shopping was said that the attitude of citizens towards online shopping is definitely changing.

„According to our experience, delivery time from China is 10-15 days. Postal services of Montenegro improved its services in this area so e-trade packages are delivered the next they after they arrive to Montenegro from international traffic. So if your package has arrived to Montenegro on 12th of November, you will receive it the next day. There are some exceptions when thousands of packages come at the same time but even then we do our best to deliver the package no later than two days after we had received it”, said PR of Postal services office.

She added that Postal services introduced service “SMS info” so if it happens that people are not home when the package is brought to them, they will notify them by SMS regarding the time and place where they can pick up their package.

From Center for consumers protection (CEZAP) was also confirmed that there aren’t many complaints from citizens regarding e-trade.

For packages up to two kilograms of weight postal fee is one euro, while for packages that have more than two kilograms postal fee is four euros.
