All government branches and independent institutions must devote new energy and maximum focus in fulfillment of the concrete requirements with the aim of further strengthening rule of law, so that Montenegro gets the final measures for negotiating chapters 23 and 24 as soon as possible, it was stated in the constitutive session of the Council for the rule of law, presided by Vice-President of the Government, Mr Zoran Pažin.
Presenting the methodology of the Council’s work, Mr Pažin pointed out the importance of fast achievement of results in the area of corruption and organized crime, human trafficking, money laundering, confiscation of illegally-acquired assets, strengthening integrity of institutions and other important matters from the area of the rule of law.
“All Montenegrin institutions must show readiness and knowledge and fulfill everything that the EC recommends as soon as possible”, said Mr Pažin.
Only with fast and convincing results, can Montenegro enter the final stage of the EU accession process.
“Further progress and development of Montenegro might also be based on further strengthening of the rule of law”, concluded Mr Pažin.
Main task of the council is monitoring the fulfillment of tasks envisaged by chapters 23 and 24, and producing recommendations to competent institutions on emergency actions aimed at fulfillment of the tasks.
