Pejovic participated at a meeting of the Working Group for South East Europe which was held on December 3rd in Berlin. The meeting was organised by the Aspen Institute together with representatives of the countries of the Western Balkans, the German Government and the Bundestag. Pejovic pointed out that Montenegro was aware that democratic governance and the improvement of the national economy would be impossible to achieve without an efficient, accountable and transparent public administration.
“In this regard, we are determined to implement the strategic objectives in the field of public administration reform and public finance management reform. We have successfully implemented all legislative activities during the first stage of reforms defined by the Strategy for Public Administration Reform. Now a new stage follows within which we will reach set goals and desired results in this area through the application of the policy solutions,” he said.
The participants summed up the results achieved in the areas of democratic governance, public administration reform and regional cooperation in the Western Balkans. As announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the next steps have been identified and concrete policy recommendations giver regarding further steps in the Western Balkans and Germany provide.
